best way to end our road trip to Dallas today- a firework stand!! I've been waiting for the stands to open!!!

This was the first year my kids got to go to a firework stand! They got lots of attention from the old couple running the stand!! The no smoking sign made me laugh... really you need a sign to tell people that :)

Spencer said "there is lots of fire in the sky!"

The boys had a lot of fun and I think they enjoyed the army truck firwork the best... we had a fun day in dallas and ended the trip with a fun firework show!

ok at seeking and just horrible at hiding!

we were laughing so hard at how spencer was playing hide and seek with max. He could not stay quiet or stay hidden!! He would laugh and pop out of every hiding spot we helped him find as soon as he heard max comming :)

the last few fishing trips...the boys have thier own fishing poles now :)

This was the first fishing day with their poles... they love it here! lots of outdoors and fishing is a big big plus for them.

Now that they own their own poles I think Max will never be home!! He told Elbert on every day off he needs to take him to the pond:)

Today Max fished from 9:30-2:30 !! for his age that is a long time! He was proud of his fish and we cooked it up for dinner! He cought this fish all by him self... well he needed a little help. When the bobber went under he went to reeled it in and then he said it's stuck! Elbert said the fish was so big for Max he had to help reel it in- GOOD JOB MAX!

Max's next goal is to catch a fish as big as a house... well in a few days I am sure he will say this fish was that big- ha ha!

Our battle in the kitchen- who can make the best friend green tomatoes!?!?!?

Ok I wanted to try a few different fried green tomatoe recipies... so we had a family cook off... It was great two recipies- two teams. Each team made two batches- one by the recipie and one batch playing with extra seasonings.... it was competitive and lots of fun! We prepared the tomatoes then took them to the judge our way nice neighbor/friend Tom!

Team #1 the monsters- Elbert and Max are ready to make there tomatoes....

Team #2- the terminators -Me and Spencer-prepared our tomatoes...


We thought we would for sure be #1!!!

We took the platter of samples over to Tom to be the judge...Of course he picked Max's team as the winner! I have to admit there recipie was much better than the one me and spencer picked to try- so that summed it up. Max's team won and is now in our family cook book! Fried Green Tomatoes!!! mmmmm... tasty!
The winning team :) Tom needed his glasses and max brought them to him... he said why is everything fuzzy!? We loved our family cook off..good times!

My friend needs more people to sign this petition this week!!!!!

Long story short- Obama wants to get envolved with health care and he is messing it up for these little kids. There is money allocated to study this desease and he wants to cut it off... plus she is so worried about other stuff he wants to do that will really affect them getting medical supplies and other stuff. It is really sad and she is fighting so hard for her little boy.

SO by signing this petition you are telling Obama and others that we want these kids to have the attention they need and to have people study it.

This is not encouraging stem cell or increased budget- it is saying the money that is there allocate it to these children!

This isn't a blog to discuss Obama lovers vs. haters, but to educate what is going on with health care and a chance for you to help a mom to save her kids life.

Our trip to Dallas...

It was a fun trip to dallas. We found a baby sitter that lives right by the temple and the boys really enjoyed them. I am so glad!! So we stayed in a hotel friday night then Saturday we went to the temple, out to eat, the movies, and a really cool mall. Then we drove home and slept really good.Spencer just LOVES our friend baby ayden.At the Dallas Temple...

We are at the stage where the boys have to take turns taking our picture :) spencer wouldn't even look where he was snapping...so funny he got one with us somewhat in it! Our friends Rayvin and Miguel :) they are such good friends! We got to go to the temple to see their family sealed. There boys are so cute!!

This week...

so this week we started the library reading pogram the boys are getting a head start!! so smart!

This is our new splash pad to play at. the kids have a great time with there new friends. People have been so nice to us here...

hasn't spence grown a lot in the last month!!!!see the oil drill in the back ground...they are all over here....the kids love them and yell oil pump every time they see one.
These are my tomatoes! I got these out of our community garden. They make my kitchen window look all country :) I am trying the fried green tomatoe recipies tonight to see if it is any good! we will see! I LOVED the movie fried green tomatoes :)

our first week in Texas...

We got a new water heater and of course the kids LOVED the box this is spencers first picture of drawing a person :) so cute!Ever sence spencer was a newborn max would play music and say we are the fish brother band and they still are! they are great!
